The presence of ram's heads in ancient Greek jewellery reflect the complex interplay of mythology, agriculture, and social values in Greek culture.

The ram played an important role in many ancient cultures. In classical Greece, the ram was viewed as a symbol of sexual power and virility and connected to Zeus, Hermes and other deities. In Rome there were similar beliefs.

Rams were associated with fertility and new life, and were also a part of funeral rites and sacrificial offerings.
A Ram Amulet was usually worn as a sign of virility and for protection against the evil eye.
