Historical info

In the course of many years, a lot of interesting coins and artefacts with a fascinating history have been sold on NumisAntica. Whenever possible we offer more information about an object or provide some historical context with the coin or artefact for sale.

At the request of some of our visitors we started to collect these historical notes and started a lexicon so that this information can stay available after the item is sold.  If you are interested in finding out more about the history of coins, who introduced new coin types or was notorious for debasing coinage, the smuggling activities on board VOC-ships, then this section will be an interesting starting point for you.

This is just the start of a new project; we will retrieve information from our archive as well as add new information as we go along.
